Hamish the Haggis

Hamish the Haggis is Scotland's new hero. Hamish and his friend Ginga the Ninja plan to meet up with some European heroes to make plans to save the environment from Climate Change. Hamish can spray bursts of water to prevent Global Warming. He owns a special recycle bin which is bottomless and means he can travel the planet picking up trash. Hamish also has flying boots to help him move swiftly around the world. Ginga the Ninja has her own powers and helps Hamish with all his fantastic deeds. The pupils of primary 7 are working on telling the story of their very own eco champions!

Our Tale Heroes are Meeting in Europe

Eight project partner countries have prepared a project on the theme of national tale heroes and ecology. First,each partner will present its own national tale with its hero to other countries and so indirectly also present its culture and tradition. Afterwards each partner will write a new tale, including national tale heroes of all participating countries, on the subject of environmental protection. We have chosen tales to be the starting point of our project because we believe that tales have the power to spread their message all over the world and can be a strong motivating factor for activities in real life. By implementing ecology in our tales we want to make children conscious about environment. Students will have a chance of expressing their imagination and use their writing, art, drama, internet, foreign language, photographs, communication... skills. And we believe that by being a part of this project the participants will not just have a stronger sense of ecological awareness, but also learn to value their own culture and respect other cultures.
